A Training Aid for public sector workersGame Design | Level Design | Programming
ACEville was created as part of a live university brief. The task was to make a game that would complement the training of public sector workers to become "ACE Aware", in short performing care with awareness of others' past trauma and environment. We decided to make a resource management mobile game that could keep players engaged over time, allowing them to incorporate their training into breaks in their schedule. ACEville is about building a community on support and kindness. Players take control of a small town and each day they are able to help new citizens. Successfully helping townsfolk with an ACE aware approach will add them to your recourses and help build the town! Failing to do so will see them fall out of the system. We wanted to reflect the hardships of getting and giving help inside a system that does not always have the recourses it needs. ACEville was well received by the client and presented, receiving positive feedback from public sector professionals. |
